“The Lost Land” is an underwater journey into a world that disappeared more than 12,000 years ago, now resting on the seabed of the Baltic Sea. At depths of 25–32 metres lie the remains of ancient forests — pines and oaks — offering a rare glimpse into the landscape and human life of the Mesolithic period. At the heart of the film is Professor Vladas Žulkus, a pioneer of underwater archaeology in Lithuania, and the expedition team from Klaipėda University. As they explore the remains of these ancient forests, the scientists seek to uncover a largely unknown chapter of the Baltic coast’s history — a lost landscape that today lies beneath the waves.
This film is part of the national student competition.
