In the quiet city streets, sheltered by the dark, three taxi drivers take their most beautiful dreams for a ride. A lyrical nighttime odyssey through Athens.
When the sun sets, three taxi drivers can finally be themselves – true dreamers. Konstantinos, also known as Puma, has a special bond with owls. His daily ritual under the Acropolis helps him prepare for a new life chapter – after more than 50 years behind the wheel, he is about to retire. Sunny is a true family man, but his fatigue from daily life makes him long for his longlasting dream – being an actor. Every night, Giorgos becomes a star, even if just for a moment – he has to sing at least one song in the bright spotlight of a local club.
„A journey through Athens that blurs the lines between beginnings and endings, reality and dreams, documentary and fiction. With the unique eye of Eirini Vourloumis, the portraits of people reveal the consequences of the country’s economic crisis; behind beautiful dreams, the obligations of tomorrow flash into view; and in the cozy calm of the night, you can already sense the sun, impatient to rise. And yet, at the very heart of the film lies an invitation to dream. Even if only for a moment. Even if only until dawn breaks.“ – Eva Sinicaitė, curator of the Emerging Filmmakers Competition programme.
