Just Look Up

Have you ever wanted to yell at a billionaire? Join Climate Defiance – they do it all the time.

In an effort to draw the public’s attention to the rot lurking behind the attractive façades, youth organisation Climate Defiance is staging disruptions at conferences attended by fossil fuel executives, business leaders, and politicians. The movement’s founder, comedian Michael Greenberg becomes the oil magnates’ greatest enemy and one of the world’s most prominent climate activists. This film offers a unique glimpse behind the scenes: the team’s daily life, their setbacks, triumphs, improvisations, and the unpredictable battle against the greatest challenge of our times.

The screening on 24 October at Skalvija Cinema will be introduced by Lina Michelkevičė, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Art Research, Vilnius Academy of Arts. The introduction will be in Lithuanian.

„An unexpectedly entertaining glimpse behind the scenes of a group of so-called radical activists. There are countless ways to be an activist, but it’s hard not to admire the courage of those who stand on the front lines, unafraid to look the perpetrators straight in the eye and expose their dirty deeds in front of their colleagues.“ – Rugilė Pranculytė, curator of the Green Competition programme.

PLEASE NOTE: pay-what-you-can tickets will not be available at Romuva cinema.
