A film that became a sensation in France explores the magic of wilderness and inspires love for all living things, from generation to generation.
Nature photographer and filmmaker Vincent Munier accompanies his father on his nature expeditions – where lynxes, bears and deer roam freely. He not only seeks to capture the visual wonders of this forest kingdom, but also aims to make its sounds audible. In this way, every forest whisper is heard. It’s also a reminder of the knowledge of nature that his father once imbued in him – knowledge that Vincent now passes on to his own son.
This film became a blockbuster in France – with more than a million cinema tickets sold. Vincent Munier masterfully combines breathtaking footage of nature and its sounds to create a fairytale-like cinematic experience that slows time down.
„In a healthy forest, countless organisms work together: they collaborate and share resources, help one another in times of need, and – most importantly – the elders pass on the wisdom accumulated over centuries to the younger generations. In a time of fractured human and interspecies relationships, listening carefully to the language of the forest can help us rediscover the value of shared prosperity.“ – Rugilė Pranculytė, curator of the Green Competition programme.
