A unique 360° planetarium experience – journey aboard the International Space Station and discover the everyday lives of astronauts in orbit from up close.
For the first time, the Inconvenient Films festival presents an immersive dome film that will be screened at the Mokslo Sala Planetarium in Kaunas. The largest production ever filmed in space, Space Explorers: The ISS Experience is an epic four-part immersive series that invites audiences to join eight astronauts on life-changing missions aboard the International Space Station. Filmed over two years with unprecedented access to the crew, the series offers an intimate look at the joy, wonder, and challenges of life in orbit.
Mokslo Sala Planetarium is currently the only operating planetarium in Lithuania, where you will be able to experience two episodes of this series. The first explores the vital role of women in space exploration while offering a behind-the-scenes look at the groundbreaking scientific experiments conducted aboard the ISS. The journey culminates in breathtaking spacewalks, as astronauts venture outside the station in the world’s first cinematic 360-degree footage captured during extravehicular missions. These critical operations push the boundaries of human exploration, providing a unique perspective on the construction and maintenance of one of humanity’s greatest technological achievements.
On October 8, the film will be introduced by science journalist, author, and TV host Goda Raibytė-Aleksa.
