A relevant reminder of the extraordinary power of journalism.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Undeterred by fierce politicians, armed soldiers and riot police, Amy Goodman has spent three decades reporting on some of the most important stories of our time: from East Timor to Morocco, from Nigeria to Gaza, from the events on September 11 to the Iraq War. Goodman amplifies stories and voices too often silenced by commercial media. Together with a small team of colleagues, she presents the daily news programme <em>Democracy Now!<\/em>, which has been broadcast since 1996 without any government funding, relying solely on donors, foundations and listeners. A compelling and inspiring story told by Oscar-nominated filmmakers, this film is about an independent journalist whose relentless determination to uncover the truth serves as a reminder that journalism is not merely a means of informing, but also a powerful tool for social justice.<\/p>\n<p>\u201e<em>This year, while putting together the festival programme, we watched quite a few films about journalists and their stories, yet we were often left with the feeling that something was being left unsaid. The journalists themselves were reluctant to fully reveal themselves, while filmmakers tended to avoid the more uncomfortable aspects of their stories. In contrast, this film, as its title suggests, leaves nothing out of frame.
