RE/FRAMED Industry days

ESoDoc, in partnership with Inconvenient Films, is presenting RE/FRAMED – a two-day gathering of experts, practitioners and curious minds engaging with the future of documentaries against the backdrop of technology.

RE/FRAMED expands the definition of documentary beyond the frame of the camera. How do new media technologies influence the art of documentary storytelling? How do immersive documentaries reach audiences and create impact? What does the growth of generative AI mean for documentary filmmaking? And how can we remain critical while engaging with technology in our processes and outputs?

Over two days, participants engage with these and other critical questions around the practice of documentary making. Experts and practitioners share case studies and processes behind films with new media technologies. All participants gather at roundtables or in hands-on workshops to discuss relevant themes of the day or address specific challenges with emerging technologies.
