That strange feeling when you’re a man trying to talk about your feelings… Like many modern men, director Duncan Cowles finds it difficult to open up. He confronts deeply rooted stereotypes and his own preconceptions about what it means to be a ‘real man’.

This film is a personal journey in which he meets with different men – both close to him and complete strangers – to talk about why vulnerability, emotional expression, or speaking about long-buried traumas remains so hard. Awkward conversations and the filmmaking process itself become a way to explore what lies at the heart of masculinity: the stigmas, taboos, and mental health challenges men face. Tender honesty blends with subtle, dry humor in a quest to understand what it means to be a man today.
