“Shadowtime” is a term that describes the sensation of multiple timelines existing in parallel with our everyday experience of time. In this work, grounded in simulation theory, participants feel what it means to immerse themselves in a virtual world and inhabit two bodies, four arms, and two hearts — one in virtual space, the other in the physical world.
With a VR headset, the journey begins in 1968 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where the first virtual reality glasses were created. There, you encounter Alma — a mysterious guide within this dual reality. Along the way, AI-generated images reinterpret our world, inviting participants to reconsider virtual reality as a place of refuge.
This work is presented at NK-INTERACTIVE — an immersive exhibition at the Radvila Palace Museum of Art. The exhibition runs from October 17–26.
