Born in Plungė, Lithuania, Wanda Rutkiewicz was considered the most famous female climber in the world. She was the first woman to climb K2 and the third to reach the top of Mount Everest. Her grand goal was to conquer all 8,000-meter peaks. Although she was not destined to achieve it, she managed to conquer eight of them – an impressive record with which she surpassed most men. In 1992, in Nepal, on her way to the summit of Kangchenjunga, Wanda disappeared without a trace. To this day, there are many rumours about the true reasons for the alpinist’s disappearance. Film director Eliza Kubarska rediscovers the archival footage, interviews Wanda’s colleagues and other witnesses. Is there a possibility that she could still be alive?
