Between the Others

12-year-old Adèle doesn’t want to go back to school. She doesn’t feel well there and finds it difficult to communicate with other kids. She feels different and cannot be herself with other people her age. Adèle keeps trying to find her identity and define femininity for herself. She doesn’t fit into the typical female beauty standards – she prefers having her hair cut short and wearing oversized clothes. She feels best when skateboarding.
