7th-26th of October
In February 2022, Ukrainian director Alisa Kovalenko voluntarily enlists in the army and leaves for the front, leaving behind her five-year-old son Teo. By sending him intimate video diaries and poetic letters, Alisa captures the harsh reality of war and reflects on her choice to serve. At the same time, she immortalizes the great warmth and genuine friendship among soldiers on the front lines, which survives even in the most horrific circumstances.
After screening of “My Dear Theo” the discussion will focus on the roles of women in wartime: from the front lines to various areas of responsibility behind the lines, from documentation and intelligence to participation in civil society, crisis management, and universal defense. We will discuss how women’s active participation shapes the understanding of resistance, resilience, and responsibility in wartime, and what strategic significance it has for society and national security.
The screening and event will take place on October 18th at 2 p.m. at the Muzeoteka | TICKETS
