Letters from Wolf Street + DISCUSSION about the experiences of migrant artists in Lithuania

The film “Letters from Wolf Street” will be followed by a discussion on creativity and identity abroad: how moving to another country, encountering a new culture, and trying to rediscover one’s creative voice can become both a challenge and an opportunity for a new beginning. We will explore how artistic practice can help navigate uncertainty, build a sense of community, and find one’s place between different cultures.

The discussion will compare the experiences of the film’s main character with the journey of musician Kadim Mazin from Baghdad to Vilnius. Kadim, an Iraqi-born artist and master of the traditional instrument oud, combines his music with contemporary sounds. In Vilnius, he has found space to continue his musical journey, collaborate with Lithuanian performers, and create dialogue between cultures. Together, we will reflect on how newcomers experience adaptation in Vilnius: the challenges they face, the opportunities they discover, and how creativity becomes a way to build bridges with the local community.

Discussion will be held in English.
