Competitive sport means travelling without parents from an early age, with only your coach and team. The Olympian who pioneered Greece’s #MeToo movement, Sofia Bekatorou inspires a younger athlete, Amalia Provelengiou, to come forward with her own abuse. Her coach took advantage of her vulnerable position: he, a person she trusted, first raped her when she was aged only 11. In a milestone trial, Sofia stands with Amalia, seeking justice. “It wasn’t rape, it was love,” – the coach’s lawyer declares. The two athletes realize that their fight to modernise Greece’s legal system, which lacks a comprehensive framework for monitoring child abuse, is just beginning.
