The film follows the Suleyman family, refugees from Syria scattered across Europe. Lazgin and his son, Andriy, live in Ukraine, where, having just escaped one military conflict, they are standing eye to eye with a different one. Reuniting with relatives in Germany and Iraq, Andriy has to decide what his role is in the endless cycle of war and peace – to escape the fighting once again or do everything he can to relieve the suffering of others?
