AboutFrom the bird’s-eye view the Curonian Spit is a narrow, sandy peninsula that the birds use as a bridge to avoid the dangerous waters of the Baltic Sea. Up to 1.5 million birds pass it on peak days, making it a spectacular place for nature lovers and vacationers. The same landscape is also home for two countries with a historically troubled relationship – Lithuania and Russia. Today, two ornithological stations make a first attempt to cross the border through a common bird research project. But will they be two birds of a feather?
