SynopsisAs they walk down the runway, the 4-to-5-year-old contestants of Mini Miss Baby Brazil beauty pageant don’t really understand why they need sophisticated hairstyles and make-up, or how come they got to ride in a limousine. Filmed from the perspective of girls, the documentary provides a unique insight into children’s innate capacity for resistance in a world dominated by adult norms and desires. ‘I’m nothing like a Barbie’, one of the girls says. ‘Barbies are quiet, and I’m not.’
