Cambodia, France | 2007 | 90 min. | R
The film portrays a daily life of Cambodian women who are selling their bodies in order to survive yet another day in Phnom Penh. Even though, prostitution is officially forbidden in Cambodia, it is still very prevalent. Who is to blame? Widespread destitution, the tyranny of the Khmer Rouge which devastated whole country or maybe refugee camps? “The tongue wriggles, you live or you die”, enigmatically answers one of the film’s character.
